   I think it’s 2^3=8
   The two sweaters can be paired with the two skirts for four combinations. The four combinations can be paired with 2 different jackets each so that’s 4 x 2 =8 or 2^3=8

   Well if mary was to mix and match which i think that what your asking. She would have 8 outfits. Number your items of clothing shirt 1 shirt 2 skirt 3 skirt 4 jacket 5 and jacket 6. Then you would have items wit shirt 1 (1,3 and 5)(1,4 and 5)(1,3 and 6)(1,4 and 6) then with shirt 2 (2,3 and 5)(2,4 and 5)(2,3 and 4)(2,4 and 6)
