If a man notices it will appear tacky to someone who recognizes "business casual"

Yes, you do, bare legs in any sort of business setting are cheap and low class.

    No of course not…

Im sure the manager at the local whore house wont mind at all…

    Otherwise…of course!!

Ever hear of being modest!? Ankles being exposed is reserved for only street walkers and hookers!

Weekend seminar, business casual – I’d say that’s acceptable depending on your location. It’s not like it’s an office setting where it would be expected. (Where I am – beach area – it’d be highly unusual to see a woman wearing pantyhose with anything other than a business suit or very dressy dress.)

As long as your skirt is a few inches below the knee and your legs are maintained, meaning some what toned and not very thick, then you are ok. If it was for professional business attire than I’d say you either need pantyhose or go to Walmart and invest in a pair of black slacks, you can never go wrong with black. For safe measure you may want to get yourself some pants because you may not always feel like shaving and you should ALWAYS have options. Hope this helps.

Ahh, I go without pantyhose all the time. They bug the hair on my legs. Besides the skirt distracts them. I’m so clever!

It can be ok to skip pantyhose if it is just around the office and you already know everyone, and the atmosphere is casual dress. But at any networking function where you are meeting new people, your legs should always be covered, either with pantyhose or slacks. If your skirt is long enough you might be able to wear sheer trouser socks instead of full pantyhose, but you should at least wear something.

Just find a convenience store early on and grab a cheap pair, since you’ll only need it for a weekend.

Unless you are in a super-conservative field, you can probably skip the pantyhose.
When in doubt, look at what the "higher-ups" are wearing.

okay think about this. What shoes you gonna wear? Nothing looks more horrible than bare feet in heels.

Going bare is going out of style and can make a poor first impression.

I would. If you are having doubts about it then your answer is pretty obvious. If you don’t then you will be thinking about it all weekend and won’t be relaxed. If pantyhose are uncomfortable for you then try wearing some thigh-highs.

It’s a business function. Get some pantyhose and wear them.

I would wear pantyhose, it looks better than bare legs anytime! pantyhose should be worn anytime you wear a skirt/dress for anykind of work!

I guess whether pantyhose are a must or not depends on the environment of the seminar. It wouldn’t hurt to have a pair just in case as you’re better safe than sorry. Since your skirts are long enough, you can opt for thigh hi’s and nobody is every the wiser. What I suggest is to wear them the first day and if it is a casual environment, then you can go without.

I think pantyhose in this situation are a must. But how about take one pair of pantyhose and wear them the first day. Look at the other women there and see if they are wearing hose. If not then don’t wear them the rest of the trip. If they are then get your self a few more pairs and wear them each day. Better safe than sorry.

No you do not have to. I see women all the time in the business world not wearing hose.

Now…this is just my personal two cents but I would never, ever go out of town on a business trip without pantyhose or something. Depending on where you are going will be a huge factor on what to where. An example is CA vs. the south. Women as a general rule are more formal in the south vs. the west coast. I would ask a few ladies what they think first and as a back up bring a pair of black pantyhose just in case. It is better to be over dressed than trying to find a store at 8 PM to buy a pair of hose…..if you dont get any info I would rather wear the pantyhose on your first night there just in case. Hose are more professional and you will make a good impression if you are over dressed than under dressed.

    Good luck!!

Pantyhose should be worn. Its the right thing to do. It just looks wrong to not wear pantyhose with a skirt or dress.

Got something to say?
