I just though it was a casual/flirty way of dressing up.
Now if you wear a skirt that barely covers your butt, you may be labeled a skank.
That's just what I've heard. Other than that, I dunno what they're talking about. References :

What kind of denim skirt?? DENIM IS IN. So you can't go wrong with any kind of denim at the moment. I personally have never liked long denim skirts. But I have a million denim mini's that I've made out of old jeans. I live my them in the summer. So I'd label myself as a beach babe with my denim mini skirt and bikini. References :

its denim. what the heck? im the sweet nice, drill team girl at my school and im in the 10th grade. and i wear skirts! it sdoesnt matter. wear what you think is cool! References :

You'll be labeled "I Like Denim!". You won't get labeled for wearing a jean skirt, and if you are, those people aren't worth your time. References :
it doesnt matter. i mean, if you're really worried about being labeled, you shouldnt be, because honestly WHO CARES! dress the way you want to dress.
if you wear it with a polo with a popped collar, a ribbon in your hair and ugg boots, yeah, people with probably label you a prep because kids in high school are like that. it all depends on the type of kids at your school.
i say, wear it with whatever you want and who cares what other people say References :

I don`t think it means anything if you wear a denim skirt. In this world everyone always has something to say about something or someone. I personally wear a denim skirt everyday. The reason being, that`s what I`m comfortable in.
