this is a great vid and I am going to try it soon! I LOVE your narrations and how honest you are because you could have messed up and I would never have noticed! I like that you admit you are human and still can get that awesome result!

    Aha! I looked and …
Aha! I looked and it’s an 80/12. I guess I’m bad at checking needles sometimes, seeing as most of my fabrics are about the same weight? But I would suggest trying out two or three different needles to see what ‘feels’ better.

    What needle size …
What needle size did you use? I’m thinking I should use a size 9. Am I right or is an 11 just fine?

    I was so ignorant …
I was so ignorant about it when I began… I just dove in (call me Craft Cousteau). But this skirt is actually nylon net- it’s like tulle, for all intents and purposes, but it’s about as stiff as paper towel; real tulle is more like facial tissue, if that makes any sense.
Yes, it sews very well, no special thread or stitch length changes needed, unless you’re using them to gather. Real tulle also sews very well, surprisingly. Practice on some scraps before diving in. The outcome is lovely.

    I love this …
    I love this tutorial !

What setting (on your sewing machine) do you use for sewing the tulle ? I have never sewn tulle before. Always avoided it because it seems such a delicate material. But lately I’ve had the urge to make tutus.

Thank you! I realized early that if I didn’t throw any of the loopholes in there, people would get frustrated if they tried it themselves and got stuck on certain aspects. Plus nobody is Martha Stewart, right?

Cute video! I love the fact that you didn’t edit out your goof ups. Made it all the more “real” and enjoyable. Thanks!

Grazi! In the middle of other things, I’m working on an easy petticoat tutorial. The first one turned out super not great, but I’m going to keep working out the kinks so it’s understandable for others.

Hahaha thanks! All of my videos feature my own music, and this happens to be a snippet of a song about a chick who takes revenge to extremes, so I guess ‘scary’ is a good thing on that one.
