How do I fray a denim skirt?

I have a denim skirt that goes about one inch above my knee and I want to cut off a few inches and turn it into a mini-skirt and fray the bottom edge. What is the best way to do this?

P.S.I don’t want any derisive comments about how it’s stupid to fray clothing…

Cut it off and wash it, dry it and you should have your fray.

Usually the washing/drying process is what does it perfectly. Keep in mind the fray might continue to unravel about 1/2 inch so the skirt might end up too short, so cut wisely.

If you have a sewing machine, I would sew all around the bottom of the denim skirt and cut about 1/4 inch beneath that..it will keep the fray from going up and up and up.

Is it okay to wear a mini skirt to a casual middle school dance even if it is in the winter?

I don’t want to wear jeans because last time I felt so hot I was going to explode… but I’m not sure if I should wear I mini skirt/shorts to a dance that is in December. Does it matter?

Nah, just wear whatever your comfortable in. its probably a good choice, because I know how it an ruin everything if your hot when your dancing.

That is so stupid. Who agrees? I hate long skirts, they look weird on me b/c I’m so skinny but some girls can pull them off without looking prudish I think eveybody should stop automatically judging people as a prude or a W#ore by the type of Skirts Clothing they wear:[ That is all I have to say about that subject

I agree, but for me…sometimes I get called a s… and a prude for wearing a short skirt. A s… because I’m showing too much of my sexy legs, and a prude because I wouldn’t have sex with the guy while I’m wearing the short skirt. Oh well…
